The summer transfer window for 2022 is ongoing, so rumours are already going strong and some transfers have already been done upon because teams plan ahead. We've put together a list of the 5 biggest ones that are already happened for summer 2022.
ERLING HAALAND
€60m (£51m, $65m)
Dortmund couldn't have done much to keep one of the best young strikers in the world because they signed him from FC Salzburg with a release clause in 2020. But €60m is less than the original figure of €75m and a lot less than the €180m he would have been worth if there hadn't been a clause. Lucky for them, they already had a €38m plan for his replacement (see below).
This could be one of the smartest things City has ever done. Haaland is great, and he is only 21 years old. He is a star in every way and should fit in well with Pep Guardiola's team. City needed a centre forward, and they beat out their competitors to get the best one.
DARWIN NUNEZ
€75m ($78m)
In 2020, Benfica paid Almeria about €24 million to get the Uruguayan player. Since then, he has been getting better and better. His big year was when he scored 34 goals in 41 games across all competitions. He was the top scorer in Portugal's top league, so it wasn't a surprise when a big club made Benfica an offer they couldn't refuse.
Nunez will have done well if he does half as well as Luis Suarez, the last Uruguayan striker to be a star at Anfield. Liverpool could spend another €25 million on add-ons, but they already have one of the best young strikers in the world, who is 22 years old and has a lot of room to grow.
RICHARLISON
£50m ($60.7m)
Struggling The Brazil international was never going to be happy at Everton, so they did the right thing by taking the money. With $50 million, they can build a good team.
It's a lot of money, especially for Spurs, but Richarlison has scored 43 goals in 135 Premier League games and can play anywhere in the front line thanks to his versatility. The club has been looking for a good replacement for Harry Kane, and they now have one.
GABRIEL JESUS
£45m ($55m)
If you only count the transfer fee, moving Jesus to Arsenal cost City £6.2m, which they used to sign Erling Haaland. Every club in the world would take that deal. Even though he is a good player, they will be fine without him.
Jesus has scored 95 goals in 236 games for City, so the Arsenal offence should be worried about him. The Brazilian player is very different from the player the Gunners wanted in January, Dusan Vlahovic, and £45m is a lot of money. But he has played in the Premier League before and knows Mikel Arteta.
SADIO MANE
€32m ($35m)
On the one hand, Liverpool is losing a world-class player, but on the other, they got rid of a 30-year-old player in the last year of his contract for €32 million, with add-ons that could bring the total to €41 million. And Darwin Nunez, who will take his place, has already been signed. Not bad.
Mane is a good addition, and Bayern has shown how much they value players with more experience. He signed a three-year contract, so he should win a lot of trophies and do well in the Bundesliga.
